Artist Statement – King Visual Arts
My name is King, and I am a hyper-realist oil painter based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
For over sixteen years, I’ve dedicated my life to mastering the visual language of art.
What began as a way to cope with the chaos of life has become my purpose, my
lifeline, and my greatest promise to myself: to evolve every day and become the
greatest artist who ever lived.
My primary focus is hyper-realistic oil painting—capturing landscapes, light, and
emotion with near-photographic precision. While oil is the heart of my practice, I am
equally fluent in acrylic, watercolor, drawing, screen printing, and woodblock techniques.
Each medium speaks a different language, but they all help me say the same thing: that
there is beauty in every detail, meaning in every shadow, and healing in the act of
creation.
Art has literally saved my life. When words failed me, painting spoke. When I was lost,
the canvas became a map. Through every brushstroke, I found not just an outlet but a
way back to myself.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and have
continued to push the boundaries of my creative practice. Looking ahead, I plan to
further my evolution by completing a Master’s degree in Italy, where I will study the
classical art of Italian marble sculpture. It’s the next chapter in a lifelong pursuit of
technical mastery, emotional depth, and historical lineage—an opportunity to carve
permanence out of stone.
My art, is a commitment, a survival story, and a declaration. I am King. And through
King Visual Arts, my only promise is to keep evolving until there is nothing left to prove.
